I was overweight at 90kg did little exercise and ate whatever I wanted. My doctor wasn’t too hopeful for me but gave me 3 months before he put me on medication. With an HbA1c of 51 (8.3%) and a resting glucose of 8.4. I was diagnosed with diabetes in November 2013. I was just wanting to thank you for all off your help. Intensive dietary management is the only answer. Medications and insulin, though, cannot cure diabetes. The truth is that diabetes is a curable disease. Either they think we are retarded, or they are retarded. But here’s the ADA saying that it is a good thing. People who take insulin are at extremely high risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke. Using insulin is good? Really? Are we in Bizarro world where good is bad and bad is good? The use of insulin means that the insulin resistance is extremely severe and is a very, very bad thing. Using insulin to get blood glucose levels to a healthy level is a good thing, not a bad one. But over time, the body gradually produces less and less of its own insulin, and eventually oral medications may not be enough to keep blood glucose levels normal. When first diagnosed, many people with type 2 diabetes can keep their blood glucose at a healthy level with oral medications. So, instead, they lie to themselves that type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease and they are doing the best that they can. What do I mean? If type 2 diabetes is a curable disease, but patients are getting worse, then endocrinologists (diabetes specialists like the ADA) must face the fact that they are not helping their patients. But that’s simply not true! We see reversal of type 2 DM every single day in our program. All the ‘experts’ like the American Diabetes Association say that type 2 diabetes is a chronic progressive disease. One thing I’ll tell you has always bothered me about type 2 diabetes.
